Couch

Problem: Model a couch by starting with only a cube.
Solution: To model this couch I started out with a cube with 2 divisions in the x-axis. I then scaled it out and extruded it up. I selected different faces and kept extruding up until I had the basic shape. I then used the multi-cut and edge loop tools to add more polygons to where I wanted finer detail. I then selected the sections of the couches around the cushions edges and extruded them in. To make the mesh smoother and less spherical I added more edge loops. To make the legs, I extruded down and followed the reference image provided. Lastly in-order to make the cushions more puffy, I used the soft selection tool and scaled/moved edges out. |
